I always feel a bit depressed when I see gardens that have had all of their palm trees and tall shrubs removed, presumably done to reduce the time it takes their owners to maintain them. A lush green landscape is good for everyone. It helps reduce noise, pollution and produces oxygen.
Humans are hard-wired to feel relaxed in a green setting. Tall vegetation can reduce the damage during strong winds and cyclones by absorbing energy. And the microclimate created by lush gardens minimises extreme temperatures.
