Learn about Florida’s native ornamental plants

I’ve got great news for those of you lucky enough to be in Florida in January. The folks at the beautiful McKee Botanical Garden are holding a lecture on how to plant and care for Florida’s native ornamental plants.

There are just so many stunning plants native to Florida, like the purple lovegrass (Eragrostis spectabilis) and the unmistakeable pineland hibiscus (Hibiscus aculeatus). Did you know that the Florida Native Plant Society has an easy to use list of native plants? I could spend hours on that website.

The details of the lecture are:

Florida Native Ornamentals Lecture: Learn planting and care tips for native ornamental plants. 11 a.m.-noon Jan. 14.
